I have trouble thinking of this as stock, Lee. It's a work of art all on its own: man at peace with his environment.

Well, I suppose I'd have to confess, it wasn't necesarily really shot as stock either. Does it work for that (as well), maybe? I don't know... I am pleased to think it projects "man at peace with his environment", since that is a message I would very much like to portray.

Thanks for the :+fav:(s) :)

Looks like something caught your eye. A snake maybe?

I think you jinxed me... I saw my first snake of the season today, and although it still wasn't in this exact spot.

Today at Deep Creek some guys killed a rattlesnake by throwing rocks at it and then chopping its head off with a hatchet. Then they skinned it, gutted it, and BBQ'd the meat. The middle of the snake had a barely digested, rat-sized rodent inside. In case you were wondering, the smell of partially digested rodent is quite pungent.

I've been with a group that did that before, many years ago. They put the snake in a stew. The meat was disgusting (but then I don't like meat generally, so I guess that's a for whatever that's worth). It didn't have a rodent inside, however, and it sounds like fortunately. I'm not sure the snake yesterday was a rattlesnake. It was making noise, but it didn't sound like a rattle, and as usual, I didn't stick around long to check it out. I just kept right on going. It wasn't there when I came back through the spot.

Perhaps surprisingly enough, there don't seem to be that many snakes out there. Well, at least not relatively, I suppose.

NICE. I took some self portraits the other day in UT that are similar to this.

I really want to make a mixed media painting from one of your photos. I wish I could do more work in my studio.

Great work man! Keep it up!! :)

Thanks! Too bad we weren't in the same place in UT at the same time, and maybe they wouldn't have had to be self-portraits... It might be fun to hike in the middle of nowhere sometime you're around (obviously I do a lot of that anyway).

Thanks also for the :+fav: :)
